Pricing for ads - Currently all ads are free for a limited time - normally prices depend on the category you select when you select "Add a Classified" - They range from $5 for a Miniature Donkey Classified to $20 to list donkey products. The fee includes 2 pictures with up to 10 available for a nominal feee. The listing currently can be run for 1-90 days with extensions available, and can be cancelled at any time. It is normally best to run your ad for the 90 days and just make changes to it, or cancel it if you item is sold.
Membership - You do not have to become a member to view ads. There's no charge for membership but you must sign up and get a username and password in order to place an ad. If you haven't already registered click on "Signup Now" and enter your information. After you have finished click on "Register" and sign in. You will then be directed to the Welcome area where you can select what you would like to do next.
Options - There a several options available such as placing your picture on the main page, Bold, highlighted, and other options. the price for each is as follows:
- Make My Title Bold - $.50 - this makes you title stand out by being in a bold type
- Feature my ad on the search pages - $1.25 - This places your ad as featured on the search
- Feature my ad on the Front Page - $1.00 - this of course shows your ad on the home page
- Make my ad Gallery Featured - $1.25 - if you are placing pictures this allows for one of your pictures to be shown on the home page.
- Highlight my ad - $.75 - makes your ad stand out in it's placement on the front page or search pages if you have selected thaose options above.
- Place a counter - Free - select a counter to see how many visitors you have had - there is no extra charge for this option.
- But Now Price - $1.00 - if you are selling an item that can be purchased by the buyer useing Pay Pal list your total price and your Paypal ID. The customer will be taken right to Paypal where they can complete the purchase.
After you have finished with your selections post your classified!
I can't seem to get my ad posted - what can I do? - If you have tried and failed we would be happy to post the ad for you along with your pictures. Just email us your ad and attach your pictures. We will also need to know the User name & password you use on the site.
How do I get my $5 credit for signing up? - Right after you sign up a credit is put on your account for the $5. If you wish to run other ads or use some of the options available you can pay for other credits with your credit card, PayPal, or check.
How do I sign up? - you must sign up and get a username and password. If you haven't already registered click on "Signup Now" and enter your information. How do I post an ad? - Click on "Place an ad" and you will be directed to Category page where you select which category your ad will be palced in. Select one and hit continue. You will arrive on the posting page where you can enter your ad. Enter your information, select the duration of the ad (from 1-90 days for the listing fee). If you are familiar with word proceesing programs such as MS Word you will be familiar with the selections for your layout. If not see next question.
What are all the buttons on the classified description? - If you are not familiar with word processing programs just leave the first box on Normal - Select the stye font you would like and the size. (you can change these by selecting words or lines of text and reselecting a different font or size at any time). The first box is for BOLD, the next for ITALICS and the 3rd for UNDERLINED. The next 4 boxes allow you to format how you paragraphs will be arranged. The next 2 boxes let you number or place a marker at the beginnning of a line. The A box lets you ad color to your text, the paint bucket lets you ad some background color. The Globe lets you set up a link to your home page, the tree allows you to place pictures, and the final box is for spell checking (you will have to download a small program for this to work).
Don't be afraid to play around with different layouts - just remember that you must select the words or lines that you want to changse by highliting them (hold down your left mouse button while moving over the text) and remember to hit "Update" after you have made your changes.
My account doesn't have enough for my ad - what do I do? - You need to purchase some units of advertising by selecting My Account and where it says Your current balance is $ ____ Add Money and click on Add Money. That will take you to the ad money page where you select how you would like to pay.
- PayPal takes you to PayPal
- Credit card will take you to our secure payment area where you can put it on your credit card.
- Pay offline by check means that you can send us a check for payment and we will apply the amount to your account.
I should have some credit due from my MDT advertising or a check was sent in - how do I get that applied? - After you have signed up contact us by email and we will apply any credits to your account. We cannot do this until after you have established an account.
I see you have a Breeders Listing, how do I get into that? - When you advertise in the Breeders Listing in Miniature Donkey Talk for 4 issues you get a free duplicate listing in the Breeders Listing plus an annual $5 credit towards your classified ad.
How do I get a color ad listed here? - All of the color ads shown here are a duplicate of the color ads run in Miniature Donkey Talk. So if you run a color ad in MDT for 4 issues you get it displayed here plus you get an annual $10 credit toward your classifieds.
I have some errors in my ad - how do I correct them? - Just click on "My Classified" and you will see some options listed under your ad. Click on "Edit" and that will tke you to your ad to make your changes. You can add other options if you wish and click on update.
How can I add pictures to my ad? - Click on "My Classified" and you will see some options listed under your ad and click on "images". Click on "browse" and navigate to your picture on your computer. Select it and hit "upload" and your picture will show up above. For several pictures keep following the same steps. If you uploaded the wrong one just hit delete and select another. After you have finished click on the "close" in the Please close this window after uploading. Your picture will now show up with your ad and on the front page if you selected that option.
How does the messaging system work? - You can choose not to list your email address or contact information and you can be contacted through the "Messages" system. This requires that you log on periodically to check and respond to messages. Once you log on click the "Messages" to see if you have any to respond to.
